How does eating regular throughout the day help you lose weight I hear you ask?

Many people get confused as to why you need to eat regular throughout the day.

There are many factors as to how this theory works. The main reason is to stabilise your blood sugar levels, this helps prevent a drop in blood sugar which results in sugar cravings.

The majority of the time sugar cravings have you grabbing the first cookie or six... and reaching for that ever tempting chocolate bar.

Starting the day the best way with a wholesome breakfast will kick start your metabolism and give you plenty of physical and mental energy for the morning. Followed by healthy snack this will keep your hunger at bay.

Having 2-3 small healthy snacks throughout the day will balance you blood sugar levels and can help prevent bingeing later in the day.

So when you think you are cutting your calories by not having breakfast and healthy snacks, REMEMBER little and often are best for weight management, energy levels and mental agility.

MY FAVOURITE HEALTHY SOUP 01/22/2011

Iam always looking for easy healthy recipes that are quick to prepare and really tasty.
I have found a new favourite....oriental noodle soup, it is great for this cold weather here in Ontario!!!!

It is really easy to make, filling and very healthy.
I have been experimenting with different kinds and i just wanted to share a few idea's.

I think the key to a good soup is the broth so boiling fish or meat bones is a must. I boil them on a low heat for a couple of hours with lemongrass, garlic, ginger and kaffier lime leaves are great for flavour.
You can have vegetarian, fish or meat soup.
When the broth is flavoursome ( always add salt and pepper to tase and you can also add chilli) you can add firmer veg in for about 5 mins ( snap peas etc)

I always place the uncooked noodles on the bottom of a big bowl and add uncooked veggies e.g. bok choy, cilantro, mint, basil, beansprouts whatever you want. Add cooked meat then pour the broth over and cover with a towel for about 5 mins or so, until the noodles are cooked and the veg is softer.

It is a great hearty soup. If you want a thicker soup you can add low fat coconut milk in the broth for about 10 mins on a simmer.

Serve and enjoy a great healthy soup.
